Jimmy’s chameleon-like characterizations of Jett Rink are a litany of Hollywood Western postures and a tribute to its great stars, from Gary Cooper to Clark Gable. Significantly, Brando, in his interpretation of Don Corleone in “The Godfather”, used Jimmy’s power-crazed oil baron as the basis for his characterization, even incorporating cosmetic details like Jett Rink’s pencil mustache and hair in his make-up.
